I write about the parts of life that don't fit neatly into categories: mental illness, relationships, identity, loss, and the rather unconventional work I do now.

 

Some of it is funny. Some of it is difficult. Very little resolves neatly.

Mental Health

Personal essays on bipolar disorder, mania, depression, addiction, and psychiatric care. From hospital wards to everyday life, I write about what happens when the mind becomes unfamiliar, the people and relationships affected along the way, and the complicated business of finding your way back.
