About Miguel

 

Massage came late. I was thirty-four, after a life that looked perfect from the outside and came apart anyway, and it took a year to rebuild. Less of it is recognizable now, but more of it is mine. I like it better that way.

I started giving massage while travelling, usually out of rented condos with everything I needed in a bag. I was good at it and it paid well, but what men kept asking for was more out of the hour. Not more massage. More of the rest. Somewhere they could slow down, talk if they wanted to, use the sauna, have a drink, or simply not rush out the door.

So I built The Lodge.

I run it myself. No staff, no front desk, nobody waiting for the room after you. It's a private massage studio and sauna in Ottawa, with a kitchen, living space and a bedroom for men staying overnight. It's deliberately small. When you're here, you're my only appointment.

I'm fairly informal by nature. I don't wear a uniform and I'm not interested in recreating a clinical massage clinic in my studio. I like getting to know the men who come through the door. Some talk through the entire massage. Some barely say a word. Both are fine. My job is mostly to read the room and make it easy to be there.

I also write. Mostly about the year my life came apart and what came after, including the parts people generally don't say publicly. There's no inspirational arc and nothing gets neatly resolved by the end.

The writing lives here, on the same site as the booking page, because it's probably the most accurate introduction to me I can give you. Read it or don't. It won't change what happens in the room.
